Verifying your email address

2 min read

When you create a Budgeto account, we ask you to confirm your email address before you set up the rest of your profile. This keeps your account secure and makes sure you can always recover access, as well as preventing people from signing up with email addresses that don't belong to them.

How it works

  1. Sign up with your email and password.
  2. We send you an email with a verification link and a 6-digit code.
  3. Open the link, or type the code into the app - either one confirms you.
  4. Once verified, you'll move on to setting up your budget.

Both the link and the code expire after 15 minutes. If yours has expired, just request a new one from the verification screen.

Tips and common issues

  • No email after a minute or two? Check your spam or junk folder. Add our sending address [email protected] to your contacts so future emails land in your inbox.
  • The code says it's invalid. It may have expired (15 minutes) or you may have requested a newer one - only the most recent code works. Tap resend and use the latest email.
  • The link doesn't open the app. That's fine - open it in your browser. It verifies your account, then you can return to the app and continue.
  • Resend is greyed out. There's a short cool-down between sends to keep things secure. Wait a moment and try again.
  • Wrong email address? Sign out and create your account again with the correct address.

Still stuck?
